Remembering You
Written October 1989
Appears on Out From Under The Covers

Got a picture of you and I and a dog
We were visiting L.A. breathing in smog
Or were we back in London, I'm in a fog
I can't remember if that was you anyway.

Or I think that dog was really a deer
We were feeding it in mountains not far from here
We gave it cheetos and a half a can of warm beer
And all those buildings were the local tourist trap.

Bridge:
We visited Ripley's Believe Or Not Museum
And toured through some dead dude's mausoleum
And we were stuck up there 'til 11pm
'Cause my car had a flat and I didn't have a jack
And the towing guy wouldn't accept the fact
That I wanted to pay with my VISA Gold.
So tell me please does any of this sound familiar
I'm not sure if that was you or maybe my sister
I tried looking for notes on the back of the picture
But all it said was "This paper manufactured by Kodak".

I got this picture of you and I and a dog
I'm not sure if that was you or if that was a dog
It's out of focus and the lens cap might not have been off
But it's been great remembering you anyway.
